With the busiest open-water season I have ever had behind me, I now look forward to hunting season. Whitetail hunting was something I took interest in and became fascinated with as a teenager. After 35 years of hunting whitetails, and 17 years as a licensed guide, I have decided to offer my deer hunting experience to novice and beginner hunters.
This delayed response to the guiding of deer is the effect of a few different factors. Number one is that the fair chase hunting of whitetail deer is a most difficult game. The odds are well stacked in the deers’ favor. Second, I often thought of Autumn deer hunting to be something I would keep for myself. Shared with friends and family. The deer hunting season is short and those days were not for sale.
With several inquiries concerning deer hunting by guests lately, and with the recent acquisition of hunting rights to two large farms, I have decided to offer beginners a personalized, one-on-one, hands-on introduction to ethical and successful whitetail hunting.
This is a multi-day “class” that is designed to introduce beginners with in-the-field instruction on whitetail deer hunting on a limited basis for one or two persons. The species is very populous and they provide challenging and exciting hunting as well as a healthy source of food.
Upstate Guide Service multi-day instructional courses are in-depth and will cover in detail the variety of techniques used to harvest whitetails and a comprehensive hands-on introduction to the habits and habitat of whitetail deer.
The course will culminate with the hunting of whitetails on managed private land where the goal is an ethical, clean and efficient harvest of a whitetail deer.
Please feel free to call or email if you find this of interest or have questions.
Have a safe, enjoyable and successful Autumn season!
Peace
Mike
